The Animal Rescue Site Shelter Challenge - Vote Daily!
MCRS has the chance to win a $5,000 grant, or one of 67 other grant prizes in the 2011 Shelter Challenge sponsored by the Animal Rescue Site in conjunction with Petfinder.com. A few clicks daily can help MCRS win a grant for the bunnies, and the process is simple. Go to The Animal Rescue Site. Type "rabbit" in the search box and choose MN for the state, then click Search. MCRS will appear - click the VOTE button next to us and don't forget to enter the captcha that appears next to confirm your vote.
You can vote every day of the contest which runs through June 19. If you'd like a daily reminder to vote, contact us and ask to be added to our Daily Vote Reminder list. During the spring and fall challenges in 2009, we generated enough votes to make Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society #1 in Minnesota, earning $2,000 to help the bunnies! Just think of how much we could do for bunnies in need with $5000!
MCRS Attends St Cloud Pet Expo
On Saturday, April 2, 2011, MCRS hosted an educational booth and two, 30 minute, rabbit agility/rabbit care stage presentations at the St. Cloud Pet Expo. The Tri County Humane Society did an amazing job of organizing this first time event. The day was full of animal education demos and booths featuring all kinds of education and activities. The community turned out to make the event a fun and interesting day. Volunteers, Sheila R, Barb K, and their rabbit ambassadors: Finnigan, Lenny, Amelia, Alice, and Atticus, spent the day teaching everyone how special rabbits are and the best possible ways to care for them and make them a special part of the family. Thanks, Sheila, Barb, and bunnies, for representing MCRS, and thank you, Tri County Humane, for having us!

MCRS continues to collect recyclables to raise money to support our mission of helping rabbits find their forever homes. Collectible items include electronic-related goods like printer cartridges and cell phones as well as consumer packaging from products such as Bear Naked, Kashi, Frito Lay, Mars and others.
