Friends of Flicka has offered MCRS a $1,000 Matching Grant!
MCRS is excited to be celebrating our tenth year of operation. During this time, we have helped more than 1,000 adoptable rabbits find new homes. We also have some new friends to help us celebrate these milestones. Friends of Flicka was created in memory of a very special golden retriever. While Friends of Flicka provides funds to rescue groups that help golden retrievers, a portion of their funding may go to any group that engages in the rescue, adoption and care of abandoned animals of any species.
Friends of Flicka will match all donations made from May 1st to May 31st, up to $1,000. Please consider becoming a Sustaining Member, or just make a one-time donation from our membership page or from our page at GiveMN. Facebook fans can donate directly on the MCRS Facebook page; look for the "Donate" tab below our cover photo. You may also receive a fundraising letter in the mail, and can submit the donation form with your check.
Without MCRS, many shelters would be faced with making life or death decisions for surrendered rabbits. Please give generously to help us continue to save companion rabbits in our community.
The Animal Rescue Site Shelter Challenge - Vote Daily!
MCRS has the chance to win a $5,000 grant, or one of 67 other grant prizes in the 2012 Shelter Challenge sponsored by the Animal Rescue Site in conjunction with Petfinder.com. A few clicks daily can help MCRS win a grant for the bunnies, and the process is simple. Go to The Animal Rescue Site. Type "rabbit" in the search box and choose MN for the state, then click Search. MCRS will appear - click the VOTE button next to us and don't forget to enter the captcha that appears next to confirm your vote.
You can vote every day of the spring voting round which began on April 9 and runs through midnight June 17. During the second round of 2011, we generated enough votes to make Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society #1 in Minnesota, earning $1,000 to help the bunnies! MCRS has had a large number of medical expenses recently and needs your support. The more friends you can rally to vote for MCRS, the better our chances of winning. Every vote, every day counts - shelters can pull ahead even during the last few days. If you'd like a daily reminder to vote, contact us and ask to be added to our Daily Vote Reminder list.
